Pre-VisionTM Packet Screening Technology Scans the incoming data to look ahead for potential problems and apply sophisticated error correction techniques. The result is a system that gives the user a solid, impenetrable link with his model. Dual Antenna Diversity (DAD) Which means the system seamlessly selects the best reception between two receiver antennas, so there's no loss of signal, regardless of the plane's attitude. The Easy LinkTM system The 7C transmitter has a unique ID code that, after linking with the R617FS receiver, assures this receiver will only follow commands from this transmitter. Set it and forget it. Just push the recessed button on the receiver and it will never forget the unique transmitter ID code, which locks this receiver to the transmitter. And with over 134 million possible codes, there's no chance for a conflict. Higher sensitivity Which enables you to stay in complete control of your model, even at greater distances. It also offers greater signal selectivity, which prevents unwanted interference. The manual has the procedure for the 8 and 14 channel receiver but shouldn't the 7 channel receiver work too?? I'm really lost on this one. Help would be appreciated. Thanks. All is good and the light is green. Thanks again! B-Like when they had the deal with two recivers with the radio. One was a 14ch and the other was a 7ch You have to change the programing before the other reciver would work. I did that this whole summer between a 30% and 2 35%'s and now a 46%.All is good and the light is green. Thanks again! B- The manual wants you to use channel 8 for the second servo but I have a 7 channel receiver. That's dangerous if it gets hit by mistake. Is there a better way to achieve this? Thanks.Everything is almost normal otherwise. I say almost because full stick in the up position and one surface has slightly more travel than the other. Must be an adjustment somewhere I guess. Everything is almost normal otherwise.

The receiver includes a dual diversity antenna which allows a 2.4GHz Futaba FASST transmitter to pick the antenna with the best reception. Stronger, More Robust Link - Futaba's system doesn't need redundant receivers. Instead, it uses a combination of Channel Shifting and Dual Antenna Diversity (DAD) to provide a robust, highly dependable link between transmitter and receiver. Pre-VisionTM - Looks ahead for potential problems when scanning incoming data and applies sophisticated error correction techniques - resulting in a system that gives the user a solid, impenetrable connection with his model. Custom-Developed Technology - Futaba uses custom IC chips that have been designed specifically for radio control. The FASST system is a result of extensive development and testing and it's the only system good enough to carry the Futaba name. No more worry about someone accidentally turning on another system on your frequency. You can fly anywhere - flying field, neighborhood park, schoolyard - without concern for conflict with another nearby radio system. And at the flying field there's no more waiting for your frequency clip to become available.A smaller receiver must be purchased separately for park flyers. Continuous Channel Shifting Unlike other 2.4GHz systems that stay on one or two frequencies (leaving the potential for interference), the 2.4GHz FASST shifts every two milliseconds, so signal conflicts and interruptions are virtually impossible.

I'm using a Futaba R617FS receiver, and I cannot be sure of where to plug in the servos correctly.

I say almost because full stick in the up position and one surface has slightly more travel than the other. Must be an adjustment somewhere I guess. It sounds like you have some other function or mix activated that is causing channel 5 to default to full deflection. RJI noticed that the main trim only works on one side too, just for kicks. You'll also need to turn that on to get normal dual-elevator mixing.Do they reccomend to wrap the receivers in foam like they did with the old 72 stuff. If you stick with Futaba, yes there is a manual. Otherwise you are on your own. Even when you buy something (one of these HK receivers) which has been out for a while, you can't necessarily assume previous knowledge is applicable to what you get. This is my first time getting a quad to work (I have flown other mini quads like the Hubsan Q4 and H107L, so I do know how to fly - but that is not the problem right now). I have received an Emax Nighthawk 280 ARF, and I am working through configuring it on Baseflight. I have also received a Futaba T7C (Tx), with R617FS (Rx), but I cannot get the Tx to engage any of the motors on the quad. I am using a fully charged Turnigy 1500 3S 35c-70c battery,on the quad as recommended. I have only changed: - Roll rate: 0.25 - Pitch rate: 0.25 Under the Receiver tab, when I hook up the cables, and then turn on the Tx, I get no movement whatsoever for Roll, Pitch, Yaw, Throttle, Aux1, Aux2, Aux3, Aux4. Mode Selection tab does not engage when I flip switches on the Tx. There is no GPS or Servos installed on this unit. For Channel 1 on the Rx, I am matching the Emax instruction manual for the placement of the AIL.

Also use the copies in on-road without any issues but not as reliable as the original. I had a major crash of my 30 size heli because of this servo. I do not blame Futaba, it's my fault. (It's expensive to be cheap !) Alot of used 30 size heli on Ebay come with this servo so when you get your heli, put those away and go with better servos, in the end you will be spending more in servos but way less in repairs. What people need to know is that this servo has been copied by Chinese manufactures and sold on ebay for a fraction of the cost of the original. Problem is that the fake ones have very erratic behavior and slow response. The originals are quite smooth. They will strip gears easily and that's the downside to them. Now you can. Drop a Plink in your drink for ice with an edge. It’s happy in its snappy packaging, and doesn’t run away at room temperature. Plink just lies back and chills till it’s time to work. Why? Because Plink saves. It usually takes an incredible amount of energy to make, transport and store our frozen friends, but with Plink you’ve got a guilt-free way to get what you need before your unused ice melts into a puddle. Now you only use the amount you need. Ice is a 200-year-old industry and Plink is its evolution. It’s smarter ice that works for you.The individual capsules make it easy to transport and store at room temperature. For a standard drink (250-300ml) just use two single serves of Plink, and so on. The pyramid shape lets you stack Plink to save space and insulate, so each Plink can huddle close to its neighbour to stay cool. Your cool new friends are a 100% Singaporean brand, too. More than just a cool addition to your drink, flavoured Plink is the main ingredient. The star! Our three flavours will give your beverage a cool new twist. Try mixing flavours with your favourite beverages. Have Some fun! Richard wanted to bring this cool new concept to Singaporeans first. Upon his return to New Zealand, he established Plink’s forerunner, the Pure New Zealand Ice Company. Despite the catchy name, did you know Tuck Lee isn’t a person. The name is derived from the auspicious Chinese name “De Li”, which means to “benefit from integrity”. It’s this attitude that has allowed this family business to thrive for the past four generations. Since then, the biggest innovation was moving from block ice to food grade, bagged ice in 1995. Easy to spot, the fake has a white spline, the real thing is black. The mounting brackets on each end of the servo may have holes situated off the ends of the fake, where the real thing has holes closer to the servo. If you think you're getting a great bargain, you're probably not. There's a good chance it's a poorly made fake.

4 Ghz Instruction Manual - Futaba 7C User's Guide (by Annmarie Cross, the Modeller's world) - This is my first time getting a quad to work (I have flown other mini quads like the Hubsan Q4 and H107L, so I do know how to fly - but that is not the problem right now). There is only way it works, because if it is wrong, there is no LED light on the Rx (as both Rx and Tx are paired). (I have followed the procedure for the Link Id on the Rx). For the rest of the channels, there is only a single cable on the 8 pin cable (from the RC Input Connector on the quad) for each channel, and I cannot figure out pin assignment on the Rx, as I don't know which way to orient it.R617FS does not support SBus protocol. You have to use the traditional Receiver in Receiver tab. In other word, you don't select serial receiver under the configuration tab. I am using SB6303 (Sbus receiver) with my T7C and T8FG, no problem at all. There is only way it works, because if it is wrong, there is no LED light on the Rx (as both Rx and Tx are paired). (I have followed the procedure for the Link Id on the Rx). For the rest of the channels, there is only a single cable on the 8 pin cable (from the RC Input Connector on the quad) for each channel, and I cannot figure out pin assignment on the Rx, as I don't know which way to orient it. The same is true for: - Cable 3: THR - Cable 4: RUD - Cable 5: AUX1 - Cable 6: AUX2 I am referencing the following and getting quite lost: - Emax Nighthawk Pro Instruction Manual (v1.0) - Futaba 7C 2.

For the cost of this kit theres not reason to hold out anymore. They will dent, they will bend, they will notch, but they will not chip, so you can keep flying till you get home. Powerful charger that's still small for what it can do. I can now charge my 10s packs at 5 amps on a 12v source. Which is what I wanted. This thing is sweet!!! Really enjoy the smaller size with the awesome flight characteristics. It's very small, has incredible range and has rx battery monitoring without an additional external sensor. Safety comes first with LiPo packs and it’s covered with fuses.I was so happy with the ability to charge up to 6 packs with my Revolectrix Powerlab 6 charger, I had to order the four port charger for my packs with Deans T-plugs. I have a good buddy who has the attitude that parallet boards are unsafe. The boards are fused, rugged, well-engineered and exactly what I was looking for after doing lots and lots of reading on the Internet. One final thought - I love how I can check the packs after flying and put them into storage charge with my trusty Revolectrix Powerlab 6 in much less time than doing each pack singly. I have had nothing but positive interactions with Progressive RC. If you are in the northwest, this is the quickest way to get your gear. I have even picked up products ordered online, from their downtown location. Also has a built in servo tester so you can hook it up to an ESC and drive it directly from a dial on the side. Very handy device. I just used it in-line with my discharger to confirm that batteries were being drained to storage voltage at a safe rate. Ease of use is unmatched. Setup of these receivers, even the micro tx was extremely easy. You update the tx and all the nano receivers will update themselves. For the cost of this kit theres not reason to hold out anymore.

This will work on anything from Park Flyer to Giant Scale. FeaturesNo servos are included. Continue holding the button until the green LED begins to glow solidly and the red LED blinks. LED indicationIf your model includes metal conductive items which may impact the receiver's ability to clearly receive the radio frequency signal, we suggest mounting the receiver so that the receiver antennas exit both sides of the model. This will allow the best radio frequency signal condition at any flying attitude. Lastmanuals, for instance, does not offer a translation service. I am not looking for a module, I am hoping for a complete transmitter. Thanks:) Adding a TM-7 or TM-8 module will not slow down the response time of the model, so you lose nothing by adding the FASST module to the transmitter, but gain the secure link that the Futaba 2.4 GHz FASST system provides. If you are asking if Futaba has something else under development, we'd not know. They haven't said. If something is announced, we'll all know. Futaba does not discuss what they are working on until they are ready. The R148DF or R148DP is an 8-channel receiver with only 8 slots. Will the y-harnesses you mentioned be included with the receivers. Thanks, Rick I just bought six of them, and not one contained any instructions as to their proper installation. Does Futaba believe we not only plan on not using the seventh channel, but don't need installation instructions, as well. I have always believed Futaba to be a first-class organization, but I'm beginning to wonder. Bax, I realize you do not make nor package these receivers, however, you are the only person to which I may vent my frustration. Please do not take it personally. Thanks, Rick Installation of the FASST receivers is just like any other type of receiver, except for the antenna positioning.

Another benefit is that you can ignore the “frequency board” found at just about every RC field. Over the years, I have accumulated a sizable fleet of planes and helicopters and would like to take advantage of the new technology, but I don’t want to buy a new system and have to reprogram all my models into a new transmitter. Futaba has released a line of modules that makes it easy to convert your existing frequency module-equipped transmitter to 2.4GHz. The TM-7 fits the 7U, 8U, 9C and 9Z radio systems and includes the R607FS 7-channel receiver. Now I can use my familiar transmitter that has all the parameters for my planes that I painstakingly set up. It only takes minutes to make the conversion and benefit from the new technology. INSTALLATION One of my favorite radios is the Futaba 9C heli version so I was glad to be able to try out the module. I find it to be very easy to program and it has all the bells and whistles I need for most airplanes and helis. Before installing the module you need to go into the programming and set the transmission mode to “PPM.” To convert the transmitter, all that you have to do is pop out the existing RF module and plug in the TM-7 module in its place. The module has the antenna attached and there is no need to remove the existing one (it should remain collapsed).

The module has a button that serves the dual purpose of failsafe disarm- 42 MODELAIRPLANENEWS.COM ing and range check. The R607FS is a small receiver that weighs only 1 ?4 ounce (with case removed) so it can be used for park flyers, yet it is a full-range system that can be used on a 40percent aerobat or big warbird. It features dual antenna diversity, which means that the receiver will select the best signal between the two antennae so that there is no signal loss. The instruction manual details how the receiver should be installed. The important point to keep in mind is that the antennae should be oriented 90 degrees to each other. Simply remove the existing RF module and pop in the TM-7 2.4GHz module. BINDING THE RECEIVER Once the receiver is in place it’s time to set up the “Easy Link” function. This links the receiver to the transmitter so that it responds only to that transmitter. Futaba’s 2.4GHz systems have a unique and permanent ID code imbedded in the transmitters or modules. To link the receiver to the transmitter, turn on the transmitter and verify that the light on the TM-7 module is blinking green. Next, press the small button between the antennae on the receiver for one second. This system is extremely versatile and maybe used by beginners and pros alike. In order for you to make the best use of your system and to fly safely, please read this manual carefully. There are many pages of setup procedures and examples.

(for USA) The RBRC SEAL on the nickel-cadmium battery contained in Futaba products indicates that Futaba Corporation of America is voluntarily participating in an industry-wide program to collect and recycle these batteries at the end of their useful lives, when taken out of service within the United States. The RBRC program provides a convenient alternative to placing used nickel-cadmium batteries into the trash or municipal waste system, which is illegal in some areas. You may contact your local recycling center for information on where to return the spent battery. Please call BATTERY for information on Ni-Cd battery recycling in your area. RBRC is a trademark of the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation. Usage Precautions (1) Prior to utilizing any radio control system, it is strongly recommended that you read and abide by the Safety Code created by the Academy of Model Aeronautics as well as any site rules and regulations that might exist. Doing so will greatly increase your enjoyment of the hobby. (2) In order to maintain complete control of your aircraft it is important that it remains visible at all times. Flying behind large objects such as buildings, grain bins, etc.WARNING - Procedures which may lead to a dangerous condition or cause death or serious injury to the user if not carried out properly, or procedures where the probability of superficial injury or physical damage is high. FLYING SAFETY To ensure the safety of yourself and others, please observe the following precautions: Have regular maintenance performed. Although your 7C protects the model memories with non-volatile EEPROM memory (which does not require periodic replacement) and not a battery, it still should have regular checkups for wear and tear. We recommend sending your system to the Futaba Service Center annually during your non-flying-season for a complete checkup and service. Ni-Cd Battery Charge the batteries! (See Charging the Ni-Cd batteries, p. 14, for details.

) Always recharge the transmitter and receiver batteries for at least 15 hours before each flying session. A low battery will soon die, causing loss of control and a crash. When you begin your flying session, reset your 7C' s built-in timer, and during the session pay attention to the duration of usage. Stop flying long before your batteries become low on charge. Do not rely on your radio s low battery warning systems, intended only as a precaution, to tell you when to recharge. Always check your transmitter and receiver batteries prior to each flight. Where to Fly We recommend that you fly at a recognized model airplane flying field. You can find model clubs and fields by asking your nearest hobby dealer, or in the US by contacting the Academy of Model Aeronautics. You can also contact the national Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), which has more than 2,500 chartered clubs across the country. Through any one of them, instructor training programs and insured newcomer training are available. Contact the AMA at the address or toll-free phone number below. Academy of Model Aeronautics 5151 East Memorial Drive Muncie, IN Tele. (800) Fax (765) or via the Internet at 5 6 Always pay particular attention to the flying field's rules, as well as the presence and location of spectators, the wind direction, and any obstacles on the field. Be very careful flying in areas near power lines, tall buildings, or communication facilities as there may be radio interference in their vicinity. Test all controls. If a servo operates abnormally, don t attempt to fly until you determine the cause of the problem. (Test to ensure that the Fail Safe settings are correct by turning the transmitter off and confirming the proper throttle movements. If you do not turn on your system in this order, you may damage your servos or control surfaces, flood your engine, or in the case of electric-powered or gasoline-powered models, the engine may unexpectedly turn on and cause a severe injury.

While you are getting ready to fly, if you place your transmitter on the ground, be sure that the wind won't tip it over. If it is knocked over, the throttle stick may be accidentally moved, causing the engine to speed up. Also, damage to your transmitter may occur. NEVER start taxiing and flying when the Power Down Mode is active. The Power Down Mode will reduce your flying range and cause a loss of control. It is a good idea to avoid pointing the transmitter antenna directly at the model, since the signal is weakest in that direction. ( Power Down Mode: see p.18) Don't fly in the rain. Water or moisture may enter the transmitter through the antenna or stick openings and cause erratic operation or loss of control. If you must fly in wet weather during a contest, be sure to cover your transmitter with a plastic bag or waterproof barrier. Never fly if lightning is expected. 6 7 A QUICK INTRODUCTION TO THE 7C SYSTEM Note that in the text of this manual, beginning at this point, any time we are using a feature s specialized name or abbreviation as seen on the screen of the 7C, that name, feature, or abbreviation will be exactly as seen on the radio s screen, including capitalization, and shown in a DIFFERENT TYPE STYLE for clarity.
